States of Incarceration exhibit opening and public conversation about incarceration and mental illness. Please join us for the official opening of the exhibit. We will celebrate with a reception, opportunities to view the exhibit, and hands-on art response activities. At 7 pm. Anne Parsons, Department of History, University of North Carolina at Greensboro, will offer some remarks on the intersections of the rise of mass incarceration with the deinstitutionalization of mental hospitals, and a panel of Indianapolis leaders, including Maurice Young, will offer perspectives on the implications of the issues for the city in a conversation moderated by Dr. Modupe Labode.
